Famous Alumni

Carolyn Jones Class of 1946

Carolyn Jones, Class of 1946. Was seen by a talent scout from Paramount, and given a screen test, which went well. Made her first appearance in The Turning Point (1952). She started working in television but kept busy on stage as well. She met Aaron Spelling. They wee married 1953. The same year Carolyn made a breakthrough in the 3-D movie House of Wax (1953) and garnered excellent reviews. Appeared in the Columbia sci-fi classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) and also appeared in The Bachelor Party (1957). For her eight minutes on screen, she received glowing reviews and was nominated for an Academy Award but lost. She followed with an impressive appearance in King Creole (1958). Gave arguably her best performance in Career (1959), but the film was not commercially successful. Carolyn Jones played Morticia Addams in "The Addams Family" (1964). She spent two years in this role. Performed in several other shows, including an episode of "Fantasy Island" (1978). Played Myrna Clegg on the soap "Capitol" (1982) from 1982 to 1983, Died August 3, 1983 (cancer).

Richard Husband Class of 1975

Astronaut on lost his life aboard the ill-fated Space Shuttle Columbia.

Ron Ely Class of 1956

Played the copilot in South Pacific (1958) and had co-starred in TV's brief series "Malibu Run" (1960)). Played title role in the TV series "Tarzan" (1966), and in two movies made from that series in 1970. Hosted the "Miss America" pageant on television 1979-81, replacing Bert Parks.
